Fr. Alfred Natali OSA 50th Anniversary Party at Palumbo's. 6/6/93. St. Mary Magdalen dePazzi Church's favorite Augustinian. Recorded by me live at Palumbo's only a year before it was destroyed by fire. Alex Angelo is the host. Roselle DiPaoli provides the music. Anthony DiFlorio does a humorous impression of Fr. Natali while narrating Fr.'s home movies.

Sadly all the Four Lads, Steve Allen and all the girls are all dead.
Blessed to have spent time with both of them as a kid. Miss Channing was a sweetheart and I have to admit I got in “trouble” with Miss Bailey
Without sounding too political, I’d say they were the Will & Grace of their day.
Incredibly multitalented!.. No one quite like him...
First pianist of the New Orleans Jazz Band.....
They really took care of their sister
Patty is not young here and she is amazing - In great shape, light as a feather on her feet, and the voice is still there. Integrating her with the Pointer Sisters was sheer genius. Delightful segment.
I love this.😊
Julie shines exceptionally when she sings ballads. Later in her career she would not reach this level of excellence. And I just wonder why that was? Her stage presence here is great.
then your BLADDER better be strong. Genius writing
Allen and Letterman will never be equaled. So cool to be able to see this in 2024
Love them so much..since I found them on you tube I have watched them every spare moment. I get teased about that all time but that don t stop me .I was a senior the fiŕst time I heard them. Phil ŵas such a heart breaker.I love them.I almost 85 yrs olwill love them forever. Rocine Johnson . June 24 2024
I remember watching this live in my late forties
I was 4 months old. But I remember watching him later on the Steve Allen Show. SCHMOCK!
I thought that was Barbara. At 15! Wow.
Jay Leno was a 4 year old boy watching this program and already concocting his schemes for stealing the show from Steve Allen.
Carol Channing was passing. She was black
Still makes me cry. Just beautiful.
What a find! She’s got a great jazz voice and I am so surprised.
Higgins!
this was really neat to see. I loved Carson back in the day, but was born too late for the Steve Allen era.
The song (a very sexy extended double entendre) and her performance are so "of another time" that it makes the whole experience especially magical. After holding so still, it's a big surprise when she and the music take off together at 3:40, 4:45, and 5:55. Her moves are so original and eccentric, they make me chuckle. She's naughty!
He sings better than when he had his show
Natural timbre in all their voices, although Donald was rarely keen to take the lead. They could start to sing a ballad with each of them 100 miles apart, and they'd still be perfectly in time.
What hotel did the say??
Even way back then, they were reaching way back to nostalgia, remembering vaudeville acts like Van and Schenck. This stuff was so good because it was the best of 70 years of vaudeville. I'm not sure anything worth remembering from vaudeville wasn't recreated during the early days of TV.
Much funnier than SNL.
Wow! Awesome!
Steve Allen was the true America! Inventive, musical, intelligent, well spoken, science minded, tolerant, liberal and lots of fun! I miss those people in
This period in Hollywood is before my own period (born in ‘83), but performer's such as Jimmy Durante, Ed Wynn, Burt Mustin, Red Skelton, writer Rod Serling; just everything you’d find on TCM warms my heart. I prefer this over a lot of today’s work. And this song is right: in an ever changing world a few things will always remain the same to give a person a sense of balance, steadiness in life.
I've always wondered why Peter Palmer did not create more major roles on Broadway. He had the charisma, the looks, and certainly the voice. (Thank goodness for L'il Anber.) Watching him here supports my opinion. His solo album is marvelous. I hope they do a major reissue of it soon.
Their singing was pretty good...The dancing could have been better rehearsed...
WoW ! What a singer
I loved this man from day 1. He sounds like EVERY instructor I ever had. Especially grad school. He taught me not to be upset with my professor but to smile and enjoy the time! ❤😂🙏
I remember watching this when it originally aired.
...Joey - POTUS, "BITE ME" - per Rush Limbaugh, circa 1990 - Biden must have been separated at birth from "Dr." Corey...
Genius.
Dadgummit, look at the cigarettes.....
CS BYen ❤… she looks like a Asian Baby Doll
Happy to find this gem! Thanks for sharing.
they touch a spot in your soul with their harmonies what a blessing they were and still are
Two Professionals working their craft beautifully, You won't see comedy like that today......
So, NBC, how long will this show last, huh?
I know you have posted a couple videos with Steve Lawrence from this show. I know you can't post the whole show. Is it possible to post other parts of the show. you did send a link to me several years. I don't have it anymore. I am not good with a computer. Now that Steve is gone would love to see the show.
Thank you for this
this sounds a lot like Henry Fonda doing the narration
No other will come again
Dean often said Harry Mills (the brother on the far right) was a big influence on his stage act.
Susan was in my class in high school. Her talent was quite apparent even back then and appeared on local TV.
Pathetic how poorly they handled the animals on this show. Makes you thankful for people like Jim Fowler and Joan Embry.
